Mother's Day

Maybe I should be embarrassed to admit it (but I'm not)... Mother's Day is pretty much my favorite day of the year.  I LOVE Mother's Day.  I love all holidays, but let's face it, most holidays involve a lot of fun and a lot of work for mom.  Don't get me wrong, it's worth it!  I love creating memories for my kids... but magic doesn't just "happen" people!

UNLESS it's Mother's Day.  On Mother's Day I wake up feeling the magic.  My kids behave (mostly).  We spend the day as a family.  They snuggle and giggle and I remember how incredibly blessed I am to have four beautiful children.  On Mother's Day I get to bask in the glow of my little family and I don't have to nag anyone.  It's amazing.
Just look at the beautiful angels that I get to call mine.  Aren't they precious?
(Exactly 12 minutes after this photo was taken the 2 year old was running around the botanical gardens in her undies, one twin fell in an alligator filled lake and the other 2 almost got strangled for laughing and causing a scene.  You think I'm kidding, but I promise, I'm not.  Obviously, this photo was not taken on Mother's Day.  On Mother's Day no one ever runs around half naked or gets almost eaten by alligators.)

Growing up all I ever wanted to be was a teacher and a mother.  I am blessed.  Today I got to enjoy watching the eyes of my students sparkle as they giggled their way through our Mother's Day craftivity.  Love.

Here is another confession, I am terrible at crafts.  I am a bad craft teacher and I am a bad craft mom.  It's not my thing.  It tends to stress me out, which stresses the kids out, which is not fun.  But today, we were feeling the Mother's Day magic!  ...Introducing Super Mom!

Isn't she cute?  The kids had so much fun making these and SO much fun explaining why their own mom's were "super".  It was adorable.
Her legs might be on the outside of her dress, but I am willing to bet that this Super Mom could rock the baby to sleep, help with homework and pack lunchboxes at the same time.  What mom can't?

...And just like "regular" mom's have lots of surprises in their purse (I can't be the only one with 3 pacifiers, 2 matchbox cars, and a blow pop in my purse can I?) Super Mom has some surprises in her cape!  Inside the cape we filled up a little booklet that will help all the moms know why we think they are super.  Are those samples above not the cutest??  Seriously, her mom is as pretty as a princess and as smart as a teacher.  LOVE.

And since it's almost Mother's Day, I hope you will indulge me while I share a few more photos of my 4 babies.

(Notice the alligator filled lake.  The wardrobe change did not go well.)

She was 3 yesterday.  YESTERDAY.  I don't understand what happened.

So, to all the Super Moms, I wish you a truly wonderful Mother's Day.  Soak them up and let the magic happen (while you sit on the couch, or sit in a lawn chair, or rest in a hammock).
